Volunteer Connection FAQs

What is Volunteer Connection?

Volunteer Connection is the software Red Cross uses to keep track of volunteers, including youth volunteers. Volunteers use this to keep track of hours, access trainings online, look for volunteering opportunities, stay in connection with their local Red Cross branch, and more!

Why do I need a Volunteer Connection account?

In order to be an official Red Cross youth volunteer, you need to have an account! The account also helps you keep track of your hours. If you earn 40 hours before graduation, you can get a Red Cross chord.

What events do I log in Volunteer Connection?

All DHS Red Cross Club gatherings count as volunteering events.

That includes our biweekly meetings, from information sessions to preparedness trainings. That also includes volunteering for our blood drive and attending outside events like fundraisers. Individual trainings and higher meetings (eg. Crash Course calls) you complete or attend online through Volunteer Connection also count!

If you're confused about whether to log an event or not, contact DHS Red Cross Club.

How can I access individual trainings?

Free, certified individual trainings are available through EDGE. You can access the EDGE portal below your name on the home page of Volunteer Connection.
